COLLIN COUNTY BOWHUNTERS ASSOCIATION, Inc.
Monthly Meeting February 18th, 2015
MEMBERS PRESENT:
-
Steve Seals, Freddie Crowder, Michael Jarvis,
Steve Milewski, Eugene Skinner, Charles Alexander, Richard Crowder, Wayne
Meuir
Minutes of last meeting read and approved.
FINANCIAL REPORT: Provided by club treasurer Steve Milewski
OLD BUSINESS:
-
Mike and Josh have investigated new ideas for
prizes/merchandise, including embroidered baseball caps and “challenge coins”.
There is no urgent need for new prizes yet, so this is tabled until we can
bring photos and/or samples for examination and a vote at a future
meeting.
NEW BUSINESS:
- Discussed the DFW “Shooter of the Year” program, and our SOY shoot this
month on Saturday, February 28th and Sunday, March 1st. There are some
differences between the SOY rules and our rules, such as no stake for women's
trad shooters, but we will have a stake for our existing club classes.
Shooters at the February shoot will have the option of paying either a $10.00
entry fee, or paying $50.00 for a CCBA, Inc., yearly membership and competing
for free. It against the rules to compete in multiple SOY classes, but there's
nothing to prevent someone from participating in a SOY class on one day and a
“club class” the next.
- Steve Seals was contacted regarding the National Archery In Schools
program (NASP - http://naspschools.org/) and the possibility of adding a
“Genesis” class for youths shooting a Mathews Genesis bow. The reaction of
everyone was very positive, and we want to learn more.
- We will wait until next week to see what the weather is like before
deciding upon a time to set targets for this month's shoot.
- ASA club insurance is being mailed this week.
